Middlebury or Wash U???

I’ve narrowed my choices down to these two schools and I really really can’t decide. Even though they are incredibly different, I’ve visited both and loved them. Any help/input would be appreciated cause the deadline is coming up and I’m kinda freaking out.

I’m pretty outgoing, very active in sports (I play basketball and volleyball) and do party/drink. Would definitely rush if I went to Wash U. Not exactly sure what I want to study, but leaning towards econ/international politics/business/languages. At Midd I’m interested in the IPE major, and Wash U it would be Olin.

Middlebury: I really love the idea of a LAC, the tight community, and the rustic beauty Middlebury has to offer. It’s very cold however (I’m from Singapore!!), and I’ve heard some negative things about the varsity athletes. While I would definitely participate in athletics at either school, I’m not sure whether it’ll be at the club or varsity level. However, it does appear to me that MiddKids have a lot more school spirit/pride which I love.

Wash U: The campus is gorgeous, everyone is so incredibly nice, and of course you can’t beat the food or dorms. I also like how it has greek life, but that it isn’t too intense. The partying scene also seems a lot more varied, instead of really the one option you have at Midd. Olin is a fantastic business school. I would also be more accustomed to the environment, and thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Delmar Loop and forrest park.

Also would take into consideration grad school placement/job opportunities etc.

Hi @apples4568 Wash U is all academics, I think the environment is a little bit dry. D is mixed Asian/White and is a little bit bummed at the lack of diversity in St. Louis in general.

I went to a flagship public school and there was a lot more verve, energy and excitement.

Good school, though. Top notch academics and great for your work resume, for sure. D also tells that a lot of top universities recruit grad students at Wash U, which is why she went actually. That, and the laid back greek life. She could have gone to Vandy but too Greek for her, she looks down her nose at it.
