<p>So does anyone go by their middle name or is it just me?</p>
<p>Ever since I could remember I have been using my middle name. As a baby, my parents called me by my middle name resulting in friends and family calling me by my middle name. Most of my friends and classmates nowadays are unaware that Brent isn't even my first name. It always surprises some people when a substitute goes over the attendance and calls out my first name, not knowing that I go by middle name.</p>
<p>Now that college is up, I don't know whether to go by my middle or first name. Although everyone who knows me, including my family, call me by my middle name, I was thinking of going with my first name to avoid confusion. So does anyone else experiences these things or am I the only one in the boat?</p>
<p>Same here! I go by my middle name (Olivia). My initials are DOL and we were thinking of changing my first name to Angelina .... then it would be AOL. ;)</p>
<p>I was thinking of going by my first name when I go to high school.</p>
<p>My brother and my cousin go by their middle names. My other cousin's dad changed his first name to what his middle name would have been... without telling my aunt.</p>
<p>My middle name is my mother's maiden name, and therefore it would be really weird to be called by that name. (Im not going to say it, but it's a strange word for a name)</p>
<p>Im worried about legal name vs. nickname. When I hand in a college assignment next year, should I be writing my legal name or nickname. I don't think i can get out of the habit of writing my nickname.</p>
<p>Well in elementary school, I was only one of two kids from my grade who didn't have a middle school. But these days, I'm just like, well I don't have a middle name, but I have a Christian name, which I do use at times, but yeah...</p>
<p>My parents and most of my extended family call me by my middle name. My parents sometimes use another name that means "first daughter" (they're Nigerian). Everyone else calls me by my first name.</p>
