The Caltech website says the Midyear report is due on 2/15. My school had midterm exams a bit late this year, so official grades will not be available until mid to late in the week, probably by Wednesday. Will I be penalized if the transcript is a few days late? Should I try to get my grades faxed?

Talk with your GC; they probably have had prior experiences and/or a relationship with CalTech & can give you good advice about how to proceed. They will also let you know options about how to get your grades sent.

Same thing with my school. They told me the transcripts wouldn't be out until the end of the month and "Oh lol you can wait." And my GC honestly doesn't know anything since she's only been here a few months. My school is really a pain sometimes. -___-;

Can we tell our school to fax/email in our midyear reports?
I live abroad so fax or email would be much faster & efficient for me (and Caltech I'd think). My school has given me a sealed envelope (containing the midyears) that I'm supposed to mail to Caltech but I'd rather just tell my school to fax or email it.

You might want to call the main admissions number to check, but I think fax is okay for the moment especially if you mail a copy that'll get here eventually (no matter how slowly).
