Midyear Report Question

I know the topic of Midyear reports has been more than worn out, but I’d like to ask a couple questions.

The schools I applied to did not require a mid year report. I sent one anyhow because my grades increased dramatically. I’m talking a 2.6 gpa second semester of junior year to a 4.14 first semester of senior year. I know my GPA this second semester will be even better. So was it a good idea to send the midyear report even though they didn’t request it? How do i know if they’ll actually look at it and/or use it for consideration towards my admission?

I applied to these schools with the knowledge that I would do well senior year. Junior year was just terrible for me. It was my first year of the IB program, in which I did not do well at well, coupled with family problems. I explained this in my essay and even included a note in my application about how well I was doing in my classes. I’m anticipating that the midyear report will be a confirmation on how well i’m doing now.

Btw, I took 3 APs junior year and I’m now taking 2 APs and 5 IB classes.
