<p>It is required. The only difference is that colleges usually are ok if you send it later because 1st semester or 2nd trimester may end after February 1st. For example, I still have 2 more weeks from the 1st semester and grades will not be officially available until it ends.</p>

<p>i think most unis will accept a faxed version...actually thats what my school suggests and when i called up one of the unis they said it was acceptable...btw you can check the commonapp college grid to see if your uni requires a midyear report or just go to that particular unis website</p>
