Midyear Report

Does UW require midyear report? If not, do you think sending one can improve one's chance of acceptance?

it doesn't and i THINK they don't extra stuff send in

wait, if they don't require a midyear report, then couldn't I just tank the rest of my finals without them knowing now that I'm accepted :D

No, you couldn't because you have to send in your final high school transcript by July 1. They'll be looking at your final semester grades, and in the past, have revoked admissions for students who let their grades slip drastically during second semester senior year. You can read more here: <a href="http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2003286270_uwadmissions03m.html%5B/url%5D">http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2003286270_uwadmissions03m.html</a></p>

define severe...

So it's safe to not send in my midyear transcript, right?

meant to say "don't WANT extra stuff" instead of "don't extra stuff"

Oh, but should I send it anyway? Or will they just not look at it? I seriously think I can impress them with my midyear grades. (I still haven't received a decision yet)

They've already got 2,000 more applications than they expected this year, so I wouldn't send anything extra. They won't consider anything outside of your completed and submitted application for admissions anyway.

I see. Thanks, Proud Husky.

To Proud Husky: How did you know that they've had 2000 more applicants?
thanks

So technically UW is not able to see how you are doing in senior year unless you send your transcript?

Myusernameis--I talked with someone in the admissions office. I spend a lot of my time on campus around Schmitz Hall and chat with people in those offices.

o i see...

I just happened to reread one of the letters that UW sends with the paper to register for MyUW, and it says something to the effect of, "DON'T send your transcripts before end of senior year unless you are requested to do so by the UW."

Good thing to note, cachememory. Thanks!
