military and medical school

sooo does any1 have any experience/knowledge about doing some time in the military then going to medical school.

I feel its my obligation to enlist and right now thats stronger then my desire to go to medical school. I want to continue my current experience with emergency medicine and become a medic with the Army do wutever the US needs me to do and then go to college. My grades would make alot of people wonder why i wanna enlist but i guess thats something many cant understand unless you feel the same way as i do.

So anyway, i know i can get through pre-med after 3-5 years in the military, idc how i do it but ill do it, but wut i wanna know is, does any1 know if medical schools give applicants with a military background a leg up in the admissions process...especially if someone has a medical military background such as the one i am hoping to get into?

Another option is looking for a navy scholarship to medical schools, but id want the experience first...plus theres something to be said for what you will learn as a medic in a combat zone, not only clinically, but i think it would make me learn bout myself and make me into a much better person....better then i would be if i just went to a civilian college outta HS.

But anyway, any1 have any experience with the military be4 premed/medical school?

I would also like to know. I just got done serving 4 years in the marines and am now going to school pursuing a medical career. Also, not to get off topic, but do they look any differently at a applicant that was married through college, than someone that was single. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
