Mind the gap.

Ok, as much as I hate these things, I want to do one now that I have all of my scores in.

Upper-middle class white male...

GPA: 4.3w/3.8uw
Rank: 28/650
PSAT 223 (I'll at least be a NMSF)
SAT 2200 (CR750/M730/W720)
SAT IIs (ehhhh):
Math 1: 710
Lit: 690
Spanish: 670
IB Diploma

AP World History: 4
AP Music Theory:4

Awaiting scores for:
AP English Lang (4 or 5)
AP Spanish Lang (3-5... not sure)
IB Bio
IB Spanish

Extra Curriculars:
Lacrosse 10-12 (Varsity 11, 12)
Jazz Band 11, 12 (Bass guitar)
Marching band 9-12 (10th and 11th I was pit section leader, 12th I am percussion Captain)
Show Band (bass guitar)
Church Band (9-12)
Student Congress (11, 12)
I had an internship with a local newspaper this summer, and during the school year I'll be writing an education column. I don't want to major in journalism, but I do love writing.

I'm decent at lacrosse (I should be ok for DIII) and very good at music. I've contacted a lot of jazz departments and I'll be sending out my mp3s soon. I'm a lacrosse recruit at Vassar...

Several hundred service hours.

I'm applying to:

Amherst
Williams
Colgate
Tufts
Brown
Princeton
Yale
Cornell
Dartmouth
Boston University
Vassar
New College of Florida

Maybe U of Chicago or Northwestern. (I'm visiting it today) Also considering a few more LACs (swarthmore, middlebury).

Now that I think about it, I'm a lot better at bass than lacrosse. I can play in basically any style, and my jazz band went to the state level. I would get a scholarship if I went to a school for music performance, but I'm not...

Also, some reccomendations for business schools would be appreciated. I dislike NYC a lot, so please nothing there...

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this and give me your honest feedback!

Bump.

I'm back from Chicago.

I LOVED Northwestern. U of C, not so much.

Bumppppp. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. Help me narrow down the list some too...

heyyyyyyyyyy. Anybody want to reply?

Amherst - reach
Williams - reach
Colgate - match
Tufts - match
Brown - reach
Princeton - big reach
Yale - big reach
Cornell - reach
Dartmouth - reach
Boston University - match/safety
Vassar - match
New College of Florida - safety
UChicago - slight reach
Northwestern - reach
Swarthmore - reach
Middlebury - slight reach

That's a lot of schools to apply to.... maybe you could trim down a couple?

Thanks for your opinions, but I'm going to beg to differ on quite a few of those. The brown jazz director said that after he gets the mp3s, that if he likes them he'll have a strong pull on admissions... or as he said "It could become a very large part of your admissions portfolio".

Oh, and I just got my AP scores:

AP English Lang: 5
Ap Spannsih Lang: 3 (hahaha, at least I passed...)

Bump.

This is getting REDIC.

I'm gonna go play guitar hero, and hopefully when I'm back, there will be a few more replies...
