Minimum GPA before they send you to community college

Okay so what are the second semester senior year rules for not having USC kick you out. I know there are no Ds or F's allowed but what about the GPA? Is it a 3.0 UW or 3.0 W or something else?

There is no exact GPA requirement published by USC Admissions. Here is their statement on the FAQ page about that:

by serious downturn do they mean more B’s than usual…or more like d’s and f’s?

like i had straight a’s for all these years…but then senior yr got several b’s…i’m quite worried about that.

IMO- going from straight A’s to several B’s is NOT a serious downturn.

Had a D my second semester senior year - was not rescinded, but that was a few years ago. Who knows, they may have tightened the guidelines since then.

Cs are ok, D is probation and you just have to get above a certain GPA (I think 3.0) during your first semester or two to get off. I know people who have gotten this.

You would have to screw up the point that you looked like an unacceptable candidate to ANY university to actually get rescinded. At worst you will be put on academic probation for your first semester, which means you must earn a 3.0 your first semester at USC.

is one A two Bs and Two Cs considered too poor for second semester?

You will really only get opinions here because none of us can know for sure.
IMO- you will be fine.

If you think the temptation to slack off is great in senior year, imagine the temptations at college where there are fun things to do and amazing people to hang with 24/7, new boyfriend/girlfriend scenarios, an open class schedule, and pretty much nonstop parties and games and… everything cool! Basically college adcoms will look at your final senior grades to see just how well you might withstand the temptations at college if you let your grades go too far down during senior year. So it’s not like they suddenly think you’ve gone stupid–but more like they are getting insight into how mature you are about school commitments. So keep up your grades this last quarter if you are seriously spiraling downward.
