Minimum GPA to be accepted to the IVYs

I don't know what happen to my previous thread but here goes again-

I am planning to apply for graduate schools and I am interested in the following schools:
princeton, harvard, MIT, UPenn, UC Berkeley, Washington University, columbia, and Yale

and I wanted to know what the minimum GPA was and if there was acceptances even lower than the minimum GPA. I wanted to see if it was possible for a scenario to have a GPA lower than the minimum GPA, but have outstanding portfolio and GRE Scores. Or minimum GPA, but decent portfolio and decent GRE scores.

In other words, do these top elite schools make exception besides GPA scores.

Thanks in advance

Why dont you say what your GPA is? Then we can tell you if you have a shot.

i have a 3.1 -3.5

vyan, peruse this thread from Archinect. It’s very long, but if you start around page 20ish you can see who was accepted where and with what.

It’s quite interesting. There’s a huge range in experience and GPA level, even at the most hard to get into programs. If I had to generalize I’d say that the focus is on portfolio, academic experience, professional experience in that order.

WUSTL, which is a very good program, is less selective than the others on your list.

Thanks for giving me that link.

I like WUSTL, it offers dual degree in construction management. I am interested in universities that offers dual degree besides landscape design or urban planning.

mainly west coast or east cost. nothing in between.

I like WUSTL too, but it’s about as “in between” as you can get. For eastcoast, you might also look at Cornell and Virginia.
