Minimum HS GPA to be considered as a competitive applicant?

Hello, my cumulative GPA is 3.70 (4.0 max). I think my AP scores and SAT scores (2270 SAT I, 790 IIC, 770 Chem, 700 USH) are pretty good, but I feel that my GPA is too low for the BS/MD programs. What is the minimum GPA that would make an applicant look competitive? If my guidance counselor can write me a good rec, would it give me an advantage?

hey i really dun kno but my GPA is a 3.57 UW but im in the top 10% of my class so hopefully it wont affect me

Bonder, it's a silly answer. yao is obviously askin to ppl who know about the stuff. And 3.57 will definitely affect u.

i HIGHLY disagree, you are speaking without the accurate information. I could be the valedictorian with a 3.57, my school could be that tough, who are you to judge how my GPA will or will not affect me?

Applicants are judged by the quality of the program they are applying from....not the GPA. Applicants coming from "known" academic powerhouse HS will be judged differently than the top student out of a weak program. It stands to reason...colleges want well prepared students.
