I just did an internet search and kind of think I have the answer, but I'll feel better if I ask the CC experts. We can cover DDs August tuition payment but will need a Parent Plus loan for Dec (it is a tri-mester college) . In time (well before December, it is to be hoped0, we should be able to pay off the $1,000 due for my husband's January colonoscopy (so much for high-cost insurance and deductibles),and my own $500 long-outstanding MD bill from a kookie laissez-faire practitoner. But suddenly I got worried...we keep current, monthly, and pay at least the minimum on our credit-card balance. But,owing to life's challenges,we DO have a not unsubstantial credit card balance. If we keep current with payments on the credit card(s),aswe always have, will we qualify for a Parent Plus loan when the MD bills are paid? Or will the outstanding credit card principles make us ineligible for a Parent Plus loan? Thank you!

^I don’t think so. See http://www.finaid.org/loans/parentloan.phtml

I think everyone is approved as long as they dont have bad issues…like 90 day lates, etc.
