Minimum Spring GPA to Maintain Admission (UCSD)

Listed below is the provisions of admission that UCSD provided:

  • Complete at least 60 semester or 90 quarter UC-transferable units by the end of Spring term 2022 with an overall UC grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.00.

  • Remain in good academic standing in your last regular term with at least a 2.00 GPA for UC-transferable coursework for that term.

  • Complete subject requirements by the end of Spring term 2022, including two UC-transferable English composition courses; one UC-transferable math concepts and quantitative reasoning course; four UC-transferable courses chosen from at least two of the following areas: arts and humanities, social and behavioral sciences, physical and biological sciences.

  • Pass subject requirements with grades of “C” or better.

This just means I have to maintain a 2.00 or higher in the Spring, right? Perhaps the wording is pretty self-explanatory but I tend to overthink things like this when preparing for the worst-case scenario.

What I see is your overall has to be a 3.0 but if you just had a 2.0 I’m the most recent semester, it’s not a problem…as long as you maintained a 3 overall.

I suspect if someone got a 2.0 in the most recent semester that a 3 overall is at risk.
