Hey, its my first post on here :D. Anyway i am in desperate need of advice. I am a freshman currently at Rutgers and i am planning on transferring. I got around a 3.0 gpa.

Now, i have been doing research into mining +geological engineering and they seem to be related. The mining engineer ends up being the complete overseer, or boss of an entire mine and usually the geological engineer works under the mining engineer.

My question is , if i go into mining engineering will my skill set only apply to mines? I am a outdoor person and always liked being in nature. In geological engineering you will most likely get paid less than the mining engineer but you seem to have a lot more variety in jobs. Geological engineers can go on excavations, expeditions, and also work with the construction of buildings or bridges, etc.

However, mining engineers usually get internships their senior year and the job outlook is on the upside. SO long story short, IDK WHAT TO CHOOSE. I was thinking Mining engineering with a M.S. in Metallurgical (using natural resources for society) or Geotechnical (buildings).

Somebody please persuade me to do something lol im stuck in the middle
