University of Minnesota twin cities or uiuc for business (accounting/finance)?

I'm pretty sure uiuc is considered better, but is it a lot better to where if Minnesota cost a lot less it's still worth going to over Minnesota?

If UIUC cost 24,000 a year and Minnesota cost 13,000 a year, which one would you choose?

Minnesota, without hesitation. Could not imagine going $44k extra in debt to live in Urbana-Champaign over Minneapolis-St Paul for four years. There will be no measurable difference in marketability of degrees. Minn will offer advantage of local internship opportunities.

Actually at either of these prices I most likely wouldn’t need to go in debt as my parents would be able to afford both of those, and whatever money is not used would go towards grad school or to me after undergrad

UMN Carlson is highly ranked and the Twin Cities are a hub for Fortune 500 companies. To me this is a no-brainer. Use the extra money for study abroad, freshman-year unpaid internships, study away (off campus but elsewhere in the US like Chicago or NYC which would be good for business majors), or any other enrichment activity

Okay thanks, but what if for UIUC I get into the college of business honors program. They have a study abroad trip, only about 40 kids in it, and other advantages like business events and networking

If your parents have the $24k and you wouldn’t take on any loans AND you get into UIUC Business Honors, then yes UIUC is a possibility instead of making no sense. Still, for business, the Twin Cities beat Urbana hands down and with $11,000 saved each year you could study abroad twice and still come out ahead.
