I just bought one a couple weeks ago. My sister said it worked great so I got it on sale. Haven’t used it yet but she hasn’t steered me wrong yet.
Thanks, all! It was the Tub Shroom I was thinking of. Of course, now that I’ve seen it again, I don’t think it will work in our shower that has a ~3" square metal piece over the drain pipe. The “weave” is too wide to stop most hair, as our latest clog attests. Hmm…maybe I could take off the square and then add the Tub Shroom?
My H loves to cook and usually forgets to wear an apron. As a result, his shirts and sweatshirts very often have grease spots that don’t just come out in the regular wash. I’ve found a product called Carbona Stain Remover for Fats and Oils, which does the trick. The stuff is amazing. I used to buy it at my local grocery store, but the store doesn’t carry it anymore, so I now buy online.
Does anyone have a suggestion for removing water spots from chrome hardware? My kitchen cabinets have chrome pulls with small water spots that I haven’t been able to remove. I have tried baking soda mixtures as well as vinegar mixtures, and all kinds of products,e.g., Barkeeper’s Friend, Brasso, and even a chrome and stainless steel polish that’s used on boats. Nothing seems to work. Recently, we had our kitchen painted and the painter suggested using jeweler’s rouge. Has anyone ever heard of this? I googled it and there are lots of different products. Not sure what to try.
I don’t have suggestions but I personally would look into automotive products used by car enthusiasts. Turtle Wax? This Old House thinks so, too!
My faucets are polished nickel and sometimes get stubborn water spots. The manufacturer recommends Simichrome polish so that’s all I’ve used. It’s worked for everything so far.
To protect the finish, I use Flitz Faucet Wax. It does seem to keep the metal from getting too many spots and probably makes them easier to remove.

My H thought that car wax would be good and I tried it. It made the hardware beautiful and shiny, but didn’t completely remove the stains. I used a good amount of elbow grease too. I feel like a person on a mission to remove those water stains!!
I’ve tried Simichrome polish and was able to remove some of the water stains, but not totally. Flitz makes a metal cleaner too and I tried it, but no luck. When I opened your link, I saw an advertisement for something called Midas Touch Polish with Jeweler’s Rouge?? I might give it a try.
My kids and spouse think I’m nuts because no one notices these spots except me.
Have you tried water and tin foil? Or Coca cola and tin foil?
No–how does it work?
First you put on the tin foil hat…
(Sorry, just passing time waiting for @jym626 to reply.)
Will the tin foil scratch the surface? We have used this to get burnt crud off the bottom of stainless steel pans.
Maybe try it on the back side first. Wet tin foil seems to be less “scratchy”. Worked great on rust!
