<p>No, lol! I've been saying accounting for a while. I just looked at U of A's rating for MIS and that got me thinking about it.</p>

<p>At my school, in my undergraduate class we were required to get a CS concentration which essentially is 16 credits or 4 classes in Computer Science. We take a year of Visual Basic and a year of Java. We also learn PHP and Mysql. I have gotten more job offers than any of my CS friends, but I am going to grad school. CS is good, but a good MIS program prepares you with the tech and business skills that make a businesses IT department succeed. By the way I didn't go to an amazing school either, I went to University of North Dakota.</p>
<p>I plan on majoring in CIS at ASU. Are MIS and CIS pretty much interchangeable?</p>
<p>yes benner410 they are indeed the same, at my school the major is simply called Information Systems or IS, but many of our textbooks have CIS or MIS headings on them.</p>
