<p>Other than tuition, room & board and books, what other expenses should I expect when I start college?</p>
<p>Other possible costs, some depending on if you are going away to school, may include additional college fees, transportation, clothes (possibly winter clothes), dorm room supplies, and 'weekly pocket money.'</p>
<p>textbooks and school supplies</p>
<p>this is a weird one maybe, but laundry money! (buy detergent, quarters for the machines)</p>
<p>toiletries (bandaids, toothpaste, shampoo)?
also, buying a computer/laptop/printer/ink/scanner/etc?
landline phone / cellphone service?
minifridge, snacks, and microwave for your room? t.v.? games?</p>
<p>tickets to concerts/shows/events</p>
<p>Generally:</p>

*Pizza money
*movie rentals
*Random bills - room phone, cell phone
*Printer paper and ink (trust me, get this BEFORE finals and keep extra around)
*shampoo
*conditioner
*razors
*deodorant
*lotion (okay, I'm a girl)
*Brita filters
*coffee/tea
*gas money/maintenance/oil changes if you have your car
*books, study aids, extra notebooks and binders and folders (you have no idea how much paper you'll have by the end of the year)
*on campus concerts, dance recitals, etc
*movies off campus
*subway or bus fare</p>
<p>Condoms!</p>
