Hi. My daughter got accepted by Miss Porter's and Tabor academy. Most people suggested that we should choose Miss Porter's. However, I surveyed the internet and found some negative comments of Miss Porter's, mostly from parents complaining about the school administration. There is also a Sexual Assault form formal teacher. Also I found that the average SAT for Miss Porter's is declining. On the other hand, Tabor seems to get a big progress and has a lot of applicants. I wonder is there any parents of current students in Miss Porter's that may give us some suggestions? thanks

I don’t know much about Porters, but I can say that Tabor is lovely :). Campus is beautiful, people are sweet, classes interesting. Marine options are incredible. Tabor is coed vs porters all girls, so that’s a big difference. Tabor is very “New England prep schooly”, not a huge amount of diversity. Wonderful place though. I don’t think you could go wrong either way, but I was accepted at tabor but decided not to apply to porters. This was mostly because I didn’t want to go all girls, but I also was unintreagued by porters.

Tabor campus is gorgeous - the student body was described to me by a consultant as really nice kids but definitely the yacht club set. It’s super preppy (not that many schools aren’t). I went to tour Miss Porters with a lot of preconceptions (most negative) but ended up really liking it. DD wasn’t into a single sex school so we passed but we know a lovely young woman from our town who has done really well there.
