Missed college admissions deadlines

Hi, I missed the deadlines applying and had some questions on what would happen.
1)Is there any late admissions?
2) should I take a year off and apply next year? Would that make me seem weaker than students fresh out of high school and lower my chances off getting in
Thank you.

Hi. I am not sure about #2, but as to your first question, I have heard that some schools will consider applications after their deadline. I would call and ask.

Here’s what I would do. Take the year off and work a lot or do a lot of volunteering and then when you apply to colleges. Make it seem like you needed to take a year off due to financial status or to volunteer/explore the world. I have not heard of any schools who would take late admissions, although I believe community colleges and some with rolling admissions like ASU might be take some late students. Go ahead and check on that though. Otherwise, take your gap year.

Every year on May 1st a list of schools that didn’t make their enrollment quotas is published. The list would surprise you because it usually includes some very strong schools. It is harder to get financial aid but some of the listed schools still offer financial aid. So look out for the May 1st list.
