Missed deadline

The late registration deadline for the June SAT II was two days ago, I didn't realize and missed it. Is there any way I can still register?

You can try stand-by. It costs $35. Go here: http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/calenfees.html

If someone doesn't show up or they have an extra test booklet you can take them.

"Both SAT and ACT offer a late registration deadline. You'll pay an extra registration fee and you may not get to test at the nearest facility to you.

If you miss the late registration deadline, you may sign up for standby testing. Standby testing is available on a first-come, first-served basis. You aren't guaranteed a chance to test, and you can't make arrangements with the testing supervisor beforehand. Arrive early to request standby, but you won't be admitted until the registered testers are admitted. In most cases, you'll be charged an additional $30 fee to test as a standby. "

so I just show up and hope they have an extra test? it says "sign up for stand-by testing".. but how would i do that?

alright i found the info

"Standby Testing

If you miss the late registration deadline, there's still a chance you can sometimes take the SAT as a standby. Test centers accept standbys on a first-come, first-serve basis only if they have enough space, testing materials, and staff—so there is no guarantee that you'll be admitted to the test.
Instructions

To be considered for standby testing, please be present at the test center on test day before 7:45 a.m. Bring a completed Registration Form, sealed in its envelope, along with payment by check, money order, or credit card. Checks and money orders should be made payable to "The College Board." You will also be charged a $35 standby fee in addition to the regular fee for the test or tests you wish to take.

Please don't call test supervisors for information about standby testing, since they do not know until test day if there will be room to admit you as a standby tester."

has anyone done this, and what are the chances that they will/will not have extra tests?

Ask around and try to find a test center that usually has a lot of test takers. That should boost your odds that someone won't show up.
I've known a couple of people who have done this and got in.

Well my test center usually has a lot of test takers. I emailed collegeboard if they could either let me register late now since it's only two days late.

mother*, why didn't someone remind me about the mother*ing deadline? I just went to the site today to see when it was, had no idea it was so early.

thanks over30, anyone else know anyone who has done this?
