Hi y’all, so I graduated from high school in 2018 and got CAP’d at UT. Essentially, they say “we think you have potential but let’s see” and they let you go to a UT system school and if you make a 3.2 you have auto admission to the College of Liberal Arts. I attended UT Tyler, made a 3.6 both semesters, received and accepted my admissions offer, and then made my fatal mistake. I was unaware of an enrollment deposit deadline and had every intention of paying the 200 dollar fee but as I had a new job and internship at the same time I was looking to start paying for some of the fees myself rather than ask my parents. I was waiting to get paid and then pay the fee. Four days after the deadline I went to pay the fee and to enroll in orientation and I get a notification that my admission to UT has been revoked and I am no longer eligible to attend. I submitted an appeal and stated I will pay immediately and am essentially desperate to attend UT. I spent a full year in a place I didn’t know that was polar opposite to my native home in Austin and really hope this mistake doesn’t ruin a dream come true a year and a half in the making. If you have any advice or similar experiences with results I’d love to hear them. I’m currently waiting for the results of the appeal due in two, seemingly never ending, weeks. Thank y’all!!
TLDR; missed enrollment deposit, waiting for appeal results, looking for suggestions or similar experiences and results.
