Missed Interview Deadline

So, I ended up missing the interview deadline. Should I still apply or is the interview required?

The interview is not required.

You can also attempt to request an interview from your EC. Though they do not have to comply with your request, they may be accommodating.

Just try contacting your EC, I contacted mine… 5 days after the deadline. Also MIT gives some interesting statistics about those who choose not to interview.

You might still be able to do it after the deadline. As I learned from my EC, the deadline for them to submit the report is Jan 6, so they should be able to do interviews up to at least Jan 1. I would think interviews generally help, unless you’re a horrible interviewer. For MIT, the interview IS taken into consideration. At some schools it “WILL NOT affect your chance of admission,” to which I respond “then why am i here?”

Your chances of getting in without an interview are quite a bit lower (one source gives it as 7% compared to 19%). I would suggest you try contacting your EC and hope for the best. You should have a good reason for missing the deadline prepared, though.
