i missed my chance for an on campus interview
uhm, i called them before xmas and they were closed when i called
and i calledback today and they are all booked
since i dont live 75 + miles away- an alumni interview will not do

i believe that an interview with an alumni would strengthen my file.
i mean not only would i be able to learn more about u of c but i feel that bymeeting with me their assessment of me would be beneficial

what are my options
.... do ijust meet with an alum and have them send in an evaluation or rec...without telling my rep?

or do i beg my admin. representative and beg for themto allow me to do it?

i 've never even spoken to my adm. rep
&& unlike NU .. id ont think they track how many times u visit or whatever

dont stress if you didn't get an interview. I didn't, (not that i WANTED to...i'm bad with those those things) and I still got in EA. actually, majority of the ppl who got in EA didn't have interviews, so don't worry.

The interviewer is rarely your actual admissions counselor, so contacting him or her might not do much. If you're really passionate for an interview, you could email your admissions counselor and ask if there's a way you could take a spot that someone has canceled (since you live nearby), but it probably won't hurt your application to forgo the interview, and I'm not sure if the office would be able to honor a late request anyway. It may be worth a try. Good luck!

Don't worry! I even visited the admissions office to see if I couldn't personally waggle an interview out of them after I called and found out interviews were all booked. I went last week--the assistant dean of admissions told me not to sweat it, only 1/3 of their kids actually get the interview.
Of course you could call up until Jan 12 to see if an interview gets cancelled.. That's what I planned to do initially but I wouldn't want to seem like an annoyance and be that chick who calls everyday to find an interview. So I'll take my chances and not do an interview.
