<p>Hello,
I'm an international student who applied to Duke University with an early decision, but my application was missing the subject tests. I missed the deadline for registering to those tests so I was in the wait list. I never thought that I wouldn't be able to take it because many people were saying that most wait listed people get to take the tests.
I was to take the test today, and since it's first come, first served basis, I went there like an hour and a half, 6:40, before the starting time and I was the first one who got to the center. Yet, when the registration started, they did not call my name or anything so I asked a teacher there, and she told me that there were 7 people who were in SAT subject test wait list and that Collegeboard had sent only one extra. I thought I was the first one, and I was the first one that they had written down on the paper, but the teacher there claimed that another girl was in the other part of the building and got there like at 6. So I missed the subject tests. Now, I have no idea what to do. Did I just waste the early decision application fee... I looked for ACT, but the deadline was yesterday and it will be in the same test center. I'm afraid that the same thing will happen again. Also, ACT takes place on Dec. 13th, and I don't think ED applicants can submit the test that late. Will they not even go over my application? Should I try to contact the admission office? Or should I just give up?
I'm so frustrated right now. Can someone give me an advice...?</p>
<p>Your only option is to contact Duke and ask them to move your application to RD. The December ACT is too late for ED, so as it stands now, your application is incomplete.</p>

<p>I absolutely agree with @skieurope. However, I recommend you ONLY request that Duke move your application from ED to RD, and you NOT provide a long litany of excuses to Duke Undergraduate Admissions. You’re accountable, you alone are responsible for meeting Duke’s clearly published requirements and deadlines, you did not do so, and excuses could easily damage your appeal. </p>

I was in panic at first, but I think I got over it.
I heard that rejected ED applicants are automatically switched into RD. Do I still have to contact them? Seems like I don’t have any choice, but to switch ED to RD. Appreciate your comments!!</p>

They told me exactly the same thing… ( I was the second person who signed up).</p>
<p>Last year Duke rejected 55% of applicants in the ED round, so not all of the non-accepted were deferred. Be proactive and contact Duke.</p>
<p>@Jelles: Unfortunately, you were misinformed. Some Duke ED applicants are accepted, some are deferred to RD, however some others are denied (rejected). Not all the non-accepted ED candidates are included in Duke’s RD “pool,” for a second admissions evaluation. Therefore, I again recommend you contact Undergraduate Admissions. </p>

<p>@SephardicJewESA I’m planning to take SAT reasoning and ACT with writing on Dec and maybe SAT subject tests on Jan. I want to improve my SAT I score since I didn’t get the score that I expected to get and since I’m already late for the early decision );
