Missing Documents?

Hello! I applied early to Georgia Tech and have gotten a buzzport username and password. When I signed in today, I saw that my high school transcript and test scores were missing (labeled as missing documents), even though I submitted my high school transcript through parchment (it says delivered on parchment) and my SAT and ACT scores several weeks before the deadline…does anybody know the problem? Thanks!

GT seems to have issues with online application being overwhelmed with all the applicants. My sons September ACT subsection scores are posted on his application, but it does not indicate they have his September ACT essay score. It still says it has his May SAT score. September ACT essay score is far superior, so we obviously want that counted. If they got subsection scores, they have to have essay score, as they are only sent together. I contacted the admission counselor who emailed back and said give the system 3 to 5 weeks to update. Also emailed admission office who very disappointingly sent back a form email that did not at all answer my questions, and said they where very busy and to go to the website, which does not help at all. They also can not explain their new rules for calculating standardized test scores. I have phoned and emailed and get different info every time. So, you may need to be very persistent in checking on this, as they will either not answer or just tell you to wait and give thesis ten time to update. We are touting tomorrow so maybe they will have more info then.

It usually takes Tech 3-5 weeks to update the document section of buzzport for applicants. I would not worry about it just yet.

As an FYI, Tech this year received 15K in early action applications. This number represents a 28% increase from last year. In fact before GT went to the Common App they received about 12K applications in total. The admission staff is not large and this time of year is extremely busy for them. I have always found the staff helpful. I suggest just contacting the admission rep assigned to your student’s geographic area and email only them. This helps your student in “demonstrating interest to them” and they will get some name recognition as they begin reviewing applications. Eventually they will get back to you. If you are touring tomorrow, then ask if you can meet with that person for just a few minutes if they are available. You can ask your questions then. Also make sure it is the student who does all the communicating.
