Reed is confusing me a lot with this. First, it took them forever to list the majority of my materials as "received" (I was freaking out that my information got lost in the mail). Then, when it started checking items off, it left two on there that I had already sent along with items that HAD been verified. My School Report Form(along with mid-year form and mid-year transcript) and Counselor Recommendation were sent in the same envelope with the rest of the supplements, so I don't see how they weren't processed with the other documents.

The only material I know I am missing is the Graded Paper because I'm still waiting on my English teacher. I (and other students) must ask her a million times a week for our papers back, but she always forgets, so maybe I should just forget my application all together and not bother sending in the other "missing materials"? =/

I wouldn't be too concerned yet with the items not being marked as received, but if they remain so after another week you can give Reed a call. It takes time to process each item of the 3000+ apps Reed has received.

Perhaps you can send another paper you already got back that has a grade with which you are happy.

I sent the application coordinator an e-mail about what I should do

I was planning on doing that, but Reed specifies a "recent" graded paper. Unfortunately, my junior year English teacher only assigned one analytical paper, and when she gave them back to us, they did not even have a grade on them or any comments as to what she thought of the content.

Plus, I'm prouder of the papers I wrote for English AP, and I think they are more what Reed is looking for. Perhaps, I will just explain the situation to my teacher and hope that lights a fire under her...though I doubt it since none of the teachers around here encourage us to apply out-of-state.

She actually has not passed back a single paper all year. She did show us a few discussion papers, but those are only 1 page typed.

My daughter did not have any graded papers to submit either, so she simply sent in two of her best and noted that the teacher didn't grade. I think Reed is more interested in seeing your thought processes and that you can write well. They don't have any remedial classes, so you need to be ready to write starting with Hum101--I think there are about 5 papers the first semester for that class alone.

She also had problems with the office keeping up-to-date noting received items. I believe she called and they told her not to worry. I would suggest you call to relieve your fears. Any office you make contact with at Reed will be more than helpful. If you really want to go to Reed, then a missed item is no reason to give up. Good luck!
