Missouri U of Sci/Tech

Anyone know anything about this school... they keep sending me letters and emails like almost daily. I was wondering if it would be worth applying to as a safety school. I'm looking at Schools for either mathematics or engineering.

It's a very high quality engineering school. Rolla is a pretty small place, but for what it is, and the cost, it's a pretty good value.

H & I lived in Rolla for a number of years and both taught there. He was the engineer. It's a good undergrad school and probably an excellent value. When we were there (10 yrs. ago), the M/F ratio was a bit skewed, something like 65% men to 35% women. Great for the women, but not so for the men. There's really not much else as a serious major other than one of the engineering fields. This is only a problem if you decide you don't like engineering and want to switch to another major. There's not a lot of choice. The town itself is VERY small and quiet. The university is the main business in town.

Is this the new name for U of Missouri - Rolla? Interesting repositioning.

Yeah, formerly Missouri-Rolla. Also, Southwest Missouri State recently took the name Missouri State.
