I submitted my common app a few days ago. Just looking back at it (which I know I shouldn't have) I realized that I forgot an apostrophe in a word. How big of a deal will this be? Could this ruin my chances or make my writing come off as childish/immature?? I'm worried :( Thanks.

hmm, they’ll probably look at it, realize your error, and think either
- s/he didn’t notice s/he made a mistake
or - s/he wasn’t careful.

I would send the admissions a little message explaining that you made a mistake, if you are super worried. but before doing ANYTHING, ask your guidance counselor what is the best course of action,

I don’t think they will care if you left out one apostrophe. Of course it would be best to not do that, but I’m sure it will have VERY little to do with your admission decision.

If you get rejected it won’t be because of the apostrophe. If it is, it’s not a school worth attending any way. I wouldn’t worry about it at all.
