Ok, I’m freaking out now. In my written supplement essay to Penn Engineering, I mentioned how I would like to participate in a few activities including the Social Impact Consulting Group, which is an organization started by Wharton! Am I screwed for writing this or are Penn Engineers allowed to help out with clubs from other Penn schools?
You’re allowed to participate in Wharton clubs as a member of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Don’t worry about your “mistake.” It will not have a negative impact on your application.
As @WhartonPenn2017 stated…, your ‘mistake’ won’t hurt you.
You seem to have forgotten about the existence of the “One University” policy. You are allowed to join clubs in Wharton as a student in SEAS, so your ‘error’ really isn’t an error at all.
@WhartonPenn2017 and @Tiberium thank you so much! I was incredibly worried that it would negatively impact my application but I guess not!
@ivyaspirant14 quite the opposite. Penn is all about its “One University” policy, and the interdisciplinary aspirations and ethos that are are central to Penn’s academic mission. Demonstrating your awareness of what Penn as a whole has to offer, and not just the specific school or major to which you applied, is a POSITIVE for Penn Admissions, and not a negative.
@"45 Percenter" Thanks! And to think I was so worried!
