UPenn essay typo

I recently just finished writing my UPenn supplement. I was so tired and sent it immediately after completing it. I just wanted to sleep so I didn't look at it. Well... This morning I decided to look over what I sent and I realized the last line said "I believe my desire to become a doctor and help others will not only be strengthened, but supported by attending Pennsylvania State University." I know this is a pretty big screw up. Does this eliminate all possibilities for acceptance? I referred to UPenn as just Penn through the entire essay if that makes a difference.

i hate to be the messenger of misery but it more or less means ur rejected
Upenn receives and rejects 1000s of applicants as good as you. and if someone doesn’t take care to mention the name properly they will reject u

consider getting touch with the Adcoms and send them a mail explaining your circumstances, they might consider the chnage

Eh… I think it depends on who ultimately gets your file and how strong of an applicant you are otherwise. I’ve heard of people who made similar errors and still got accepted. I’m sure this happens a lot and for the most part, people are understanding, especially since UPenn-Penn State is a common mix up. I agree that you should email the Office of Admissions and let them know that you accidentally submitted an incorrect version of your essay with the correct copy attached, but whether or not they accept it, I don’t think the error will be a deal-breaker for a strong applicant.
