I can only get recommendations from my physics teacher and my math teacher. But, I don’t have any recommendations from any humanities teachers. Does this affect my chances of getting into MIT?
@Anonymous261 MIT’s admission website says they require one math/science and one humanities recommendation - contrast that with “recommended” HS coursework.
Is there a convincing reason you don’t have humanities recs?
Some family issue happened and I wasn’t able to get one in time before the teachers were full.
@Anonymous261
Is that a convincing reason? Did you know in the spring that you were interested in applying to MIT?
You may want to ask the MIT admissions office directly.
We require a letter from a humanities, arts, or social science teacher. If you can’t get someone from this year, try a previous year.
