i got a letter from MIT women's volleyball today... i'm interested, but intimidated. does anyone know how hard it is to get onto a div3 MIT sports team and how much of a time committment it is?

Hey, I applied to MIT and I play women's volleyball too. Well, not this year, but if I got into MIT and went there, I'd definitely be interested!

From what I've heard, it seems that since MIT has 41 Varsity Sports, most anyone can join, and you can join as a walk-on. If you're not that good, you can still get a spot and warm the bench if you so please. I think all college sports are a pretty big time commitment, and I was searching the MIT women's volleyball website and their schedule included teams from Colorado.

But I really think it would be fun to be on a college team, and it's something to brag about later in life.

That's my two cents, but you're going to have to make your own decision. Here's that website if you'd like to look. http://mitathletics.collegesports.com/sports/w-volley/mit-w-volley-body.html
