MIT Class of 2010 Official Countdown Clock!!!

lol if they brought down the pentagon servers, I think it's possible to bring down the MIT servers.

Except usually those attacks have 10s of thousands of people and we only would have like 100

Well..is this a joke?

Maybe he got so nervous he got diarrhea and had to sit on the toilet.

yea AtoZ prob one of em's like a weapon manufacturer/nsa agent ;P not a good idea

Last year one of my friends was waiting for a decision from his top choice college (can't remember which), just like we are now. Literally 5 minutes before they went online, because of the lightning and thunder at the time, he somehow got electrocuted and the computer was busted. After a quick recovery, 2 days later he checked his decision.

Waitlisted

TheBravery, thats hilarious.
Somebody IM me

A pity.......

i think we may be making a record of posts/min in this thread

When he told me about it, i started laughing, and he didn't talk to me for like a week.

Anyway. 29min left

Not as many as the SAT THreads after a test.

lol, getalife1234

I think the record number of posts per minute was probably achieved last year by the Bumper's Brigade during the DHL fiasco. Anyone still here from that time and want to tell about that to pass the time?

(and good wishes all!)

I don't think that a bunch of accesses to the server wouldbe enough to create a Denial of Service. Generally a DDOS attack is executed with a flood of Syn/Ack packets, therefore making it very hard for the server to deny the connecting. However, since we will just be trying to access the server, it should just turn us down if it gets overflooded.

Call me superstitious but getting electrocuted before your decision can never be a good sign :D

Who on earth is Ben? And why is he so popular?

isn't there a way to post a link for people to join your chat

Ben Jones is one of the incredible MIT admissions ppl :]

Thank you edy_42, but talking crap like that really won't help you get into MIT.

Juuuuuuuust kidding

Where do I find my decision? On the side it says my MIT profile, online application & tracking, and overnight program. Which one do I click on?

so Ben's a admissions director?

Hey... how exactly does the "waitlisted" system work??

When would "waitlisted" canidates get a chance to know their decision? Wouldn't it be too late as you would have comitted to another college?

Around how many canidates are waitlisted? And is being waitlisted at MIT a good sign?

Sorry for the flurry of questions!

Cheers..
