JustStressed makes a good hashtag in this situation!
I actually made my account two days ago so it was my real feelings
Hahahaha you guys are honestly really nice people, international student from Egypt here
How is everyone feeling?! we only have 8 hours left!!!
@JustStressed im counting down in my head, and the day is going by incredibly slowly. hbu? lol
7 hrs 3 minutes til I get rejected
At least you guys get the results at a convenient time; it’s already 9 pm in my country and Idk whether I should stay awake until 3:30 am for results or sleep…!!
@readytoimpress For international students applying regular action with interviews initially waived, till when can we expect an interview?
I’m here to motivate everyone. Hope this helps you all.
Remember the time when you first tried to craft something or cook something new?
It always feels good to show your creation to others with the line, “Look, I made it.”
Sometimes this thing ignites a new idea, sometimes this is just an effort to try an existing thing, but this doesn’t change the fact that it is your effort into making that thing. Even if you are able to apply the smallest idea into reality, feel proud to do it. All of us spent hours into the MIT application, we spent those hours towards something we all love, so even if you get rejected, DO NOT FEEL LOW!
Take your time to relax, always remember, to breath…
@intellectboy
I don’t really know, but mid-January seems reasonable - they started assessing the applications, decided you’re not an absolute degenerate and deserve an interview.
I also think that’s the deal with other universities which don’t have instant interviews (that process is probably similar to having your interview waived, and then being interviewd).
**Decision: Deferred **
Hey guys, MIT '20 here. I remember last year around this time when I was freaking out–seriously, I wrote a letter to future-me saying it was okay if I didn’t get in!
You’re all amazing regardless of the result today, and one college decision can’t change that. If it’s any help, I know kids who didn’t get into MIT last year and went to Harvard, Princeton, Stanford. But ultimately, it’s not about which school you end up at, it’s about who you choose to become
3 hrs 7 minutes til the grand rejection letter
today is the day!! 2 hr 38 min lefttt
im so nervous
Based on the lack of differences in acceptance rates for EA vs RD for MIT, especially when compared to schools like Stanford, Harvard, and Princeton, I would love thoughts on why apply early to MIT (S18) as opposed to the others. Thanks and good luck to all…
60 min! Good luck friends
45 minutes!
OH BOY! CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT TO COME EARLY WITH THIS REJECTION LETTER!!!
I bet the MIT Admission officers picked up my application and, after 10 seconds of reading, got so bored that they fell asleep. Then, after they woke up after about 3 hours of sleeping, they got so mad at me for wasting their time that they straight up rejected me out of pure anger.
@brazos21 there is a 60% or so chance of deferral, deferred applicants are considered again. However, there are likely many hidden variables at play. According to MIT, EA and RD and treated equally, so I would believe that before anything.
