Hmm I don't think they give out the numbers to these sorts but I may be mistaken. I'd guess that most top tier engineering graduate programs would have acceptance rates of ~10-20% (though I might very well be mistaken)

US News reports that MIT's school of engineering acceptance rate was 23.5% for 2007. I am not aware of any department-specific acceptance rates. The year before that it was around 25%, I believe.

See my answer in your equivalent thread on the MIT forum.

I know this has been done, but I'm curious as it is quite relevant for me to know. Does anyone think I have a chance at going to MIT BE graduate Program?

Stats:

Undergrad: JHU CHEMBE
GRE: 780Q/760V/5W
Cum GPA: 3.6
Major GPA: 3.7-3.8

2 research experiences in academia (1 at Hopkins, 1 at UT)
1 research experience in biotechnology industry.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Grad applications are just a crap shoot at the top universities.

Some more relevant info:
Number of publications?
I assume your recommendators are well known?

None of your stats raise red flags so you're application will probably look like all the other potential 1/4 applicants that make it pass the first two cuts unless you have some overwhelming number of publications or some really substantial reccos.

i think I said you had no chance before but after meeting some hopkins chem e kids with comparable stats, you have a definite chance.
