My son had an A, A minus average in high school, with the most challenging course load, ( 3 aps senior year.. rest honors) 740 760 on sats...great recommendations and did not get into first choices for college freshman year. He is now looking to transfer to MIT, but without desired classes of a year of math and a year of physics, senmester of bio and semester of chem. Instead, he has a semester of calc 3, a year of honors chem..he is willing to go to school over the summer -- plus other challenging classes at Wash U.
He can apply as a straight chem major or-- he can get more specific . He really really wants to go to MIT. Thanks for all advice.

Good luck, that's all I have to say.

Why does he want to go to MIT?

Doesn't MIT only accept, like, 12 transfer students a year? Good luck, but I'm thinking it will be a hard hard road to follow.
