<p>LAXER, you are right, there are definitely some schools that have a reputation for putting less emphasis on recruiting than others. MIT is one of those schools. UChicago and CalTech are definitely two others I have always heard about. </p>

<p>Also, it’s a different sport, but there was a user here (long gone I think) with the ID abstract17 who ended up being recruited and admitted to MIT for football. He was largely upset at not getting into another school, but I think had some good information as to how it worked for him with football.</p>

<p>You may want to ask this on the MIT board for specific information These things change over time, we know a girl who received a likely letter for Chicago last fall, before the EA application date.</p>
