MIT Launch Summer Program 2016

Did anyone who was deferred hear back? Like did you guys get anything? Even a mail confirming the submission of the Additional Information form?

@aabraham hey, can you share your intro video?

I guess all the people who haven’t received an interview by now are rejected as one of my friend who submitted his application on 21st Feb got the interview & so did all his friends. :frowning:

It’s sad, I was really looking forward to this program. :confused:

@kidnextdoor same :frowning: I really wanted to go. I wish they offered everyone an interview

Hey, let’s be positive and wait for the final results. What if the people offered an interview currently were reviewed earlier than us?

Let’s just wait for final results till then :smiley:

@hoshjoshe Last time I linked to an outside website I got a warning by a moderator so I’d rather not haha. But if you’d like to look it up on Youtube, my name is Adit Abraham

@aabraham I just saw it and its great! Have you completed the interview, if yes, have you got any decision yet?

And others (including me), don’t worry if you haven’t been offered the interview yet, I’ve seen discussion of past year and there are people who have been offered interview even in the last week of march.

So, well, let’s cross our fingers! :smiley:

On a side note, are both the sessions equally competitive? Or is one session easier to get into than the other?

Is it me or MIT Launch doesn’t reply to emails?

@thekidnextdoor I don’t think a session is more competitive than the other but if you applied to both sessions, you probably will have a greater chance of getting in than just applying to one session.

@thekidnextdoor You can’t really confirm. What if, 7 out of 10 people opted for session 1, this will make session 1 competitive BUT we don’t know that how many opted for which session. The best bet is always to opt for both the session.

And @Bse15578 , they must be getting a lot of emails, so it would probably be hard for them to reply to each mail. Also to add, I mailed them around early January and they replied to me within 24 hours. (I had a genuine problem with application).

hmm

Can the people who got accepted or got an interview pen down their profile here? Would really appreciate that.

@thekidnextdoor I too would want the selected guys to pen down their profile here.

Does not getting an interview mean rejection?

And can I use this thread to ask stuff about endevvr?

  1. At this moment, I think that all the students who they were interested to admit in Launch have been given interviews. After the interviews the Launch team may change its mind about a few students & will then have to interview other students whom they weren't too sure about earlier.
  2. You shouldn't, there probably is an existing thread for it & if there isn't you can create one yourself. :)

@timallen
Unfortunately we cannot disclose how many people are rejected/deferred. Over half of the early applicants were denied, but there are 70 spots total in each of two sessions, and still lots of remaining spots left to be filled by both regular round applicants and a few of the deferred applicants!

@blobtown
Thank you for applying for regular round! The program coordinator should have contacted you about a glitch in out application management system (you are still being considered for the regular application round for 2016).

In response to some of the things in the rest of your post though: We review each application several times. As I said before, the admissions committee is not located in Boston 24/7, 365 days a year. So your youtube analytics will not tell you anything about where your application is in the process of being reviewed.
