MIT Launch Summer Program 2016

@Treeroot Thank you

@everyone I just had my interview, and I thought I had a great conversation with Ms. Stach. I just wanted to ask you all one thing - roughly, how long were your interviews?

@NewAgeGilgamesh Mine was just about 15 minutes exactly. Ms.Stach was very happy to let me speak as long as I wanted about the questions however I feel she definitely made an effort to make sure all her answers were answered while still staying within the time estimate (of around 15-20 minutes).

@Bse15578 Well, from what I’ve seen a lot of the people who got accepted were accepted only a few days after their interview. I did have an interview but judging as how I have not heard back from them yet, its possible that i’m one of the people that got rejected after an interview

@aabraham true but a lot of people were accepted on the official day that decisions were released.
Still hoping for more interviews lol. Did they send you guys an interview through email?

Could someone please tell me how they inform for an interview? Thank you

@Bse15578 @Admission371

You will receive an email from the MIT Launch committee (I received my email specifically from info@launchsummer.org) with the subject of “MIT Launch - interview”.

Within the email, they give you instructions on how to schedule an interview and where to go to do the interview.

@articlez do you meet someone in person for the interview or interviews are done via skype?

@robot07
All the interviews are done through Skype video chat (at least mine was video chat - I suppose you may be able to do voice chat if you do not have a camera). The email gives you instructions on who to add on Skype and they will add you back at the time of your interview.

@articlez Thank you

@articlez Thank you for the feedback.

Does anybody know as of now how many people out of 140 have been accepted?

Are there any stats on how many people applied to Launch last year? Because like everyone I know got accepted… (PS I haven’t been accepted, yet). Is launch really that competitive as it seems?

2 is not everone

^Those two are mutual friends, I know other people too :stuck_out_tongue:

@Bse15578 Yep! They sent us a link through which we picked a time for it.

Anyone tried “asking” for an interview?

There has been no reply from MIT launch to 2-3 of my emails what do I do?

Hi all! Sorry for being late replying to this, but interviews are still being sent out! There are still many spots left to fill for the 2016 program (both sessions) so don’t lose faith!

If you are not getting a response from the MIT Launch email, maybe read the previous forum posts and website FAQ and Launch blog–your questions are probably answered there and we don’t have the capacity to answer hundreds of emails asking the same questions answered on our official pages.

We do not release any data on admissions until admissions is complete for the year. Please do not request this info, thanks!

Interviews will be offered to applicants, we cannot grant interviews to students who “request one”.

Their website says <15-20% and that its decreasing. Wouldn’t really think of that as not competitive @thekidnextdoor
