"Hooks" - Hispanic male and first generation

The fact that you lied that your Hispanic most likely with that many impressive achievement shows that you either have low self esteem or is a ■■■■■…
Yes you have a good shot of getting in but it’s always not guranteed

And your school would NOT be competitive if it’s not 1) a private school or 2) top ranked 3)Just generally thats your bias opinion

Anyways, if you want can PM your name and my friend who also got into SSP can tell me

Prototped, I am sorry but I think you got the wrong idea. I really am a Hispanic male and it’s not like I’m ¼ Hispanic or anything. – I’m 100% Hispanic. I did not just post these statistics to waste your time, and I apologize if that is the message you got. At my school, no one has gotten into MIT in over 3 years and all the applicants that got rejected were very, very well qualified. I just want to know how I stand compared to others because I do not have much knowledge about the MIT admissions process. And speaking of my school, you are right, I am pretty biased. It is just a large public school and it is not insanely competitive, but it is a little bit (quite a few students go to Ivies from my school every year). So yeah, I would just gladly appreciate any input concerning my chances of being admitted into MIT.

MIT wants to see that you had passion for something and worked hard at it. It doesn’t have to be school related, but the fact that you were president of every club in your school is not as impressive as having a burning passion for say, ecology, doing research in a real lab or working a part-time job you enjoyed while at school. MIT wants to see you committed to something, because ultimately they want a student body comprised of many people passionate about different things. Yes, you should definitely be well rounded, but your stats don’t really stand out in the grand scheme of things. I would suggest focus on 1 or 2 things you really love and push yourself to the extent in them.

Try to improve your SAT scores and rank, if it’s reported.

Good luck!

Oh then you definitely have a good shot of going to MIT. I would recommend not doing a laundry list like you did here… The academics will be listed on your transcript, the curriculum should be picked by yourself as your BEST interest (you can ask Counselor for suggestions if you have one). Overall, you have a good above average standard application for MIT to check it out and try to raise your SAT if you can , those few points could show not only improvement but out compete other applicants.
