Have any of you guys apply as transfer applicant to MIT?
Do you know when the decisions will be sent? Thanks

Assume you were rejected unless notified otherwise.

MIT barely ever takes transfers, apparently.

tracemhunter, why do you think so?
It's true that they accept only 2-3 candidates, but since it's > 0.. :)

It's ->0 for international students.

Really? I know a guy transfered to MIT last year from Vietnam National University, got fin aid, too.

I've got a question, do u have to take all physics, math, and chem in college to apply to MIT?

Yes, you do.
Here's what written in MIT Undergraduate Admission site:
[quote]
Are there specific courses I should take before I can apply to transfer?
Yes. We recommend that prospective transfer students take a variety of mathematics and science courses before applying. We like to see you taking full advantage of your institution's offerings in these areas. This includes one year each of college-level calculus and calculus-based physics, and one semester each of biology and chemistry. If you received advanced placement from high school courses, then you should enroll in the appropriate level for each of the disciplines mentioned above.

Anyone heard from MIT at all? Anyone got in?

Two things which may be of interest to MIT transfer applicants:

If that's too competitive, hope a hurricane comes and wipes out your school. You won't have to go through the transfer application process then.

I do not have any clue on the status of my application though I am assuming a rejection. Have not received anything from them at all . . . and it's the 19th

I haven't recieved word either.
I've just been living out my pre-transfer days assuming I got rejected.
