Recommended classes for transfers.

I've decided that I want to go to MIT for undergrad instead of just graduate school like I had planned.

What classes should I take and when should I try to apply? I was thinking about these:

Semester 1:
Biology I
College Trigonometry
Literature in America
Vocal Performance
English/Writing I (I'm not sure what exactly it's called)

Semester 2:
Calculus I
Chemistry
English/Writing II
American History

Semester 3 (summer semester):
Calculus II
Physics I with Calculus
Sociology

Semester 4:
Calculus III
Physics II with Calculus
Ethics
International Government

I live in Cambridge MA so I can volunteer at MIT.

Do my planned courses look good? Should someone always take pre-calculus?

what do u mean by a transfer?

Are you in college right now?

Yes, I've done one semester already.

You should read the MIT Admissions website pages about Transfer Admissions very carefully. In particular, note:

Are there specific courses I should take before I can apply to transfer?
Yes. We recommend that prospective transfer students take a variety of mathematics and science courses before applying. We like to see you taking full advantage of your institution's offerings in these areas. This includes one year each of college-level calculus and calculus-based physics, and one semester each of biology and chemistry.

While your proposed schedule includes the recommended courses, you would need to evaluate whether it would be considered "taking full advantage of your institution's offerings in these areas". Also note:

What is the minimum GPA required for transfer applicants?
There is no minimum required GPA. However, competitive applicants have a GPA of 3.5 or above, and mostly "A"s in mathematics and science courses.

And finally, note that MIT accepts only a very small number of transfer applicants each year (typically in the single digits), so if you apply, think about what special qualities you would bring to the class and focus on those in your application. And do well at your current school. :) Good luck!

Does it matter which college someone is transferring from?..
