MIT Undergrad Chances / How Can I Boost Myself?

Hi there! As I’m entering my senior year of high school, I’d like to know if there is anything I could do to help me get into my dream school, MIT. I understand that the chances for even extremely well qualified students are slim, but I moreso want advice on what to focus on in my application. I am a white, upper/middle class male from a large public high school in Texas.

Top 5 Rank out of 700 students
Passed 8 AP Tests with an average score of 4.25 (Human Geo, WHAP, APUSH, Bio, CompSci, Lang, Psych, EnviroSci)
Planning to take 6 more senior year (BC Calc, Lit, Macro/Micro, Gov/CompGov)
35 ACT / 1560 SAT (I’m taking my subject tests in August)
Had leadership roles on my football team, but I’m not good enough of an athlete to play at the collegiate level.
Play guitar and drums, and taught young musicians for volunteer hours.
80+ volunteer hours at the animal shelter (I like animals a lot)
Senior Class Secretary
Active NHS and Student Council Member
FBLA President at our school’s local chapter, and also placed 10th at my Coding & Programming Event at the National Competition
Academic Decathlon Competitor
I’m passionate for Computer Science / Software Engineering. I’ve taken 3 CompSci classes, got a 5 on my AP test, and did extremely well in FBLA for it. I make games in my free time to improve my skills (though nothing noteworthy)

I apologize if the threads for these top schools are frowned upon… It’s just that admission season is coming up and I’m getting excited & anxious. Thanks!!!

You have good stats, but one year you would get admitted and the next year denied with exactly the same application so it’s very difficult to say, good news your in the ballpark for admitted students as far as stats go.

I suggest you focus on the national competitions and game design to differentiate yourself as much as possible from other applicants. MIT wants to see extreme passion for one or two activities.
