Mites

I have applied for the 2006 mites summer program. Soon after I sent in my application, I took the SAT and scored 100 points better than on my PSAT. Should I attempt to send my SAT score to mites, or should I forget about the idea?

I'm extremely bothered by my math test scores. PSAT: 193 (62M/68V/63W); SAT 2030 (660M/660V/710W). It seems that a lot of emphasis is placed on a good standardized test math score in the applications process, but to what extent?

Although I live in Florida, I'm staying in Boston for a little while as part of my spring break. I was thinking of running to the mites admissions office and dropping off a copy of my most recent SAT score. But the problem is, I would not be able to provide an official score report. If I were to provide the mites selection committee with my most recent SAT score, would it matter if I gave them a printed copy of my scores as they appear when I access my collegeboard account?

Thank you, and I hope to hear from some prospective mites students that are waiting for their acceptance (or rejection) letter as anxiously as I am!

Nah, it's not enough of an improvement, and if you send it in it'll seem like you studied a lot and only improved 100 points.

So in other words, you don't think that my very improved writing score (relatively speaking) will help?

I was thinking that if I sent the new score, they could combine my highest verbal (680) with my highest math (660).

I thought that sending in my SAT score would show that I really care about the outcome of whether I'm accepted. Especially if I swing by the mites admissions office to drop it off.

They are reading the applications now and are probably finalizing decisions. Its true that it'll show you really care, but they find that out in your essays. Its more likely they'll be bothered by you sending more materials after the application deadline with all the stacks of papers they have to look through already. Congrats on a 100 point improvement which is quite good, but honestly test scores don't matter that much at this point.
