Mixed ethnicity scholarship frustration

I’m just curious if anyone else has this frustration.

I’m just already guessing I’m not going to be able to get any ethnic scholarships because I’m so mixed and I don’t think I can prove my descent for most things. I’m 1/4 black, 1/4 Jewish (only genetically), 1/4 German, and 1/4 Irish. I would probably go for the Irish thing above else since my dad is from there (and I’m technically a citizen) but my last name is German and my dad is half German. I don’t think I can get anything for being black or Jewish because I only recently found these things out and all my paperwork says I’m a white Catholic. But I’m not a practicing Catholic (didn’t get Confimation) so I can’t get anything for that either.

Just wondering about other people’s frustrations. To me the whole ethnic scholarship thing just seemed kinda weird but then again there are way weirder scholarships out there

There are plenty of non-race and non-ethnic based scholarships out there. Many just require an essay. Try for those.

There really aren’t all that many ethnic scholarships, and I’m not sure you’d be excluded from them. If you identify as black, go ahead and apply.

One of my kids is mostly Irish and one is Chinese. Neither got enthic scholarships.
