I need to decide between these two fast. I was originally planning on majoring in business like accounting so I picked Mizzou, but I realize a STEM(science, technology, engineering, math) major is really the best for the future. So would Iowa State be a lot better for like engineering or science? Is Mizzou alright for engineering and science? How is Iowa State for business if I went there and decided to do that? I already enrolled at Mizzou but I can get out of it before May 1.

A couple of things…

Acounting job prospects are fantastic and better than many STEM fields like biology and chemistry.

Mizzou’s business school is higher ranked than Iowa State but the difference may not really matter. The most important thing to look at in B schools like Mizzou and ISU is…do they place their students? If so, where? and at What salary? If these are roughly equal, pick the place you like most.

Here is a link to Iowa State’s career services data on placement and salary…
[Employment Statistics | Business Career Services - Iowa State University](http://www.business.iastate.edu/careers/Annual_Report)

If Mizzou does not have their report online, call them and ask for it.

I think that Iowa State is probably a better option for many STEM fields like engineering. ISU has the largest engineering career fair in the midwest.

STEM majors are hard. Don’t go imto one just for job prospects because you will probably end up with poor grades and poor job prospects. If you like accounting better, do that and excel.

Iowa State is superior to University of Missouri for STEM. For Business, they are on the same level. So, Iowa State should be a no-brainer choice here if costs are the same.

Iowa State is going to be about 3 thousand or more cheaper than Mizzou. So is Iowa State the better all around school then? I also want to minor in music so do they both have good music programs?
