<p>hey I've started this thread so that we can all discuss mnemonics fro any word found we find difficult to remember. Feel free to post up a word ( but also post its meaning) </p>

the "b" that begins the word is at the beginning of the alphabet, so there are 24 more letters....growing toward the end</p>

<p>dearth: scarse
DARTH vader had a dearth of kindness</p>

<p>augment: to increase
you know...breast AUGMENTation... lol</p>

<p>kinda reminds me of torpedo, which is ultra fast and hence the opposite of torpid.</p>

<p>Phlegmatic
unexcitable: generally unemotional and difficult to arouse</p>

<p>It's like Phlegm...nobody really gets excited bout it ( including me whatever you may have heard)</p>

<p>lugubrious: gloomy: extremely mournful, sad</p>

<p>"rio" at the end of this word can be realated to riots. riots always create mournful situations. </p>

<p>Or at the beggining of the word there is LUG--lugging a lot a luggagge always makes me lugubrious</p>

<p>Oh no my mnemonics thread has died out. NOOOOOOO!!!!!</p>

<p>that's a shame. personally, i thought the "whatever you may have heard" part of post 17 was very funny.</p>

<p>i don't really use mnemonics, but i'll try to come up with one and post it when i do. how's that?</p>
