Vocabulary Game

Alright guys, I don't know if this will help any of us significantly with vocabular, but I suppose it's worth a shot.
Here are the rules:
1. Post a sentence using the vocabulary word the preceeding poster posted, as well as a brief definition.
2. IF the previous person incorrectly incorporated a vocabulary word, write a new sentence correctly using the word.

I'll start--

WORD: halcyon
DEFINITION: calm, peaceful
SENTENCE: The golden sun kissed the bronze horizon as a graceful seagull glided over the halcyon waters--it was truly a paradise.

NEW WORD: loquacious (the next poster should write a sentence using this word and provide a brief definition, as well as a NEW word for the poster after him/her)

The hardworking girl was kept from doing her homework by her loquacious little brother.
loquacious- excessively talkative

amalgamate

^to unite or put together in a group
The teacher amalgamated a series of hard questions in order to produce an organic, difficult test.

adulation
admiration

LMAO------glucose read the instructions again...

I'm not gonna play:-) this is stupid...haha

adulation- respect, honor
The knights had great adulation for the king.

(Don't forget a new word)

saturnine

Having or marked by a tendency to be bitter or sardonic
Her saturnine countenance exuded irritation.

proliferate

DEFINITION: To grow or multiply by rapidly.

SENTENCE: As the malicious cancer proliferated throughout her wasted body the doctors announced that the case was hopeless.

NEW WORD: panacea

It's a cure or some shiznit.

unnecessary :)

Definition? Memorizing SAT words in mass when you're only going to need, like, 3-12 of them. Reading and circling/looking up words that you don't know, as well as looking up words in SAT CR practice sets is much more effective.
