I would appreciate any student information regarding biophysics and biochem at Yale. Having worked under a prominent biochemist/virologist/pioneer in structural biology, I've developed a stronger interest in the area. So, my questions are:

How solid is the Biophysics/biochem program at yale?

How accessible are the undergraduate research opportunities?

What is the relative emphasis on this major compared to others?

Thanks!

I’m not an MB&B major, i’m in MCDB (molecular, cellular, and developmental biology). But to answer your second question, the abundance of money and opportunities for research is probably the best thing about being a science major at yale. Research positions and grants are very easy to get, even as a freshman. And the faculty have a large variety of research interests. You could research the MB&B faculty’s research interests if you want to learn about the strengths of the department. It should be easy to find on professors’ websites.
